Galapagos Islands All Inclusive: What Does Your Package Cover?

Compare the whole trip: where you sleep, which excursions are reserved and which costs remain outside the quote.

THE SHORT ANSWER

An all-inclusive Galapagos package is only as complete as its written inclusions. Hotel programs, cruises and land-based itineraries bundle different services. Check flights, entry charges, meals, excursions and transfers line by line. GLBT offers tailored land-based proposals; our published planning estimates do not mean that every expense is included.

Three types of package, three different experiences

Start with the type of trip you want. A hotel program keeps one accommodation base and combines it with selected activities. An island-hopping package connects hotel stays on two or more inhabited islands. An expedition cruise uses a vessel as your overnight base and follows its authorized itinerary. Similar wording on a sales page does not make these experiences interchangeable.

If you are searching for Galapagos Islands all-inclusive resorts, check whether the offer is accommodation with meals or a program with excursions. A waterfront location says nothing about how many boat trips are reserved. A land-based package can coordinate hotels, selected activities and transfers while leaving some meals independent.

Our routes use hotels as their overnight bases. Five days stays on Santa Cruz; seven days combines Santa Cruz and Isabela; eight days adds San Cristóbal. Choose the route before comparing room categories or asking for additional services.

Use an inclusions checklist before comparing prices

Put proposals beside each other and compare the same travelers, dates, number of nights and room arrangements. A lower total can reflect fewer excursions, a different hotel location or meals charged separately. A higher total can include services you do not need.

For Galapagos Islands all-inclusive vacation packages, ask which journeys and tours are included, on which days, and whether they are shared or private. Keep any unconfirmed item visible until the operator provides an answer.

Questions to resolve in your written trip proposal

AccommodationNamed hotels, room category, occupancy and number of nightsA price per person is not a price for the room or whole group.
ExcursionsNamed destination, activity and number of departuresA list of possible islands is not a reservation at every island.
TransfersAirport, pier and hotel legs, plus inter-island connectionsA hotel transfer may cover only part of the airport journey.
Meals and drinksMeals listed by day; drinking water and other drinksBreakfast included is different from full board.

Flights and entry chargesEach included flight and each excluded chargeDo not assume international or mainland–island flights are included.
Private servicesExactly which guide, vehicle or boat is exclusiveA personal itinerary can still use shared excursions.

Confirm the excursions that matter to your trip

Prioritize two or three experiences, then check that the package gives them enough time. If Bartolomé is central to your plans, ask whether it is the named excursion or one of several possible alternatives. The same applies to Los Túneles from Isabela or Kicker Rock from San Cristóbal.

Our suggested routes identify alternatives where appropriate. A day described as North Seymour, Bartolomé, South Plaza or Santa Fe means one proposed offshore destination, selected after checking availability. It does not promise four visits. Sea conditions, authorized access and operator arrangements also affect what can run.

Share swimming confidence, walking preferences and any need for a slower pace when requesting the proposal. More included activities are not automatically a better holiday if they leave no time to rest or require unsuitable transfers.

Tailor-made and fully private are different arrangements

A tailor-made itinerary is planned around your dates and preferences. It can combine individual hotel bookings with shared excursion boats and scheduled inter-island transport. Reserving an entire boat or arranging a dedicated guide is a separate request, with its own availability and cost.

Tell us where exclusivity would make the greatest difference: airport transfers, a particular excursion, guiding or the whole route. We can check the requested arrangements and identify what is private and what is shared in the proposal. Private service does not remove visitor rules or guarantee access to a particular site.

Also distinguish flexibility before booking from flexibility during the trip. An itinerary can be designed for you in advance while confirmed excursions still have fixed departure times and cancellation conditions.

Choose five, seven or eight days by the route

Five days gives you four nights on Santa Cruz and avoids inter-island hotel moves. It is a useful starting point when time is limited or one hotel base is a priority. Arrival and departure are part of those five days.

Seven days allows six nights across Santa Cruz and Isabela, returning to Santa Cruz before the Baltra flight. Eight days allows seven nights and includes San Cristóbal, with more variety and more transfers. Extra nights can be added to a personal proposal rather than filling every spare hour with another excursion.

For a longer holiday, use the extra time to improve the pace. More nights in a well-chosen base can be more useful than adding another island.

Separate the package total from your total holiday budget

Keep international travel, mainland Ecuador nights, mainland–Galapagos flights, entry charges and personal spending as separate lines unless the proposal explicitly includes them. Check the basis of every price: per traveler, per room or for the whole party.

As an example of why the details matter, Finch Bay publishes hotel programs with different meal arrangements and identifies taxes separately. Those are that hotel's programs, not GLBT prices or evidence that its rooms are included in our trips. Compare the named services in your own proposal.

Our cost guide explains how to build the total budget. This page helps you compare what you receive for that total.

Request a complete, itemized land-based proposal

Send your approximate dates, number of travelers, preferred trip length, room arrangements and budget per person excluding flights. Add your priority experiences and any preference for private services. If your budget includes flights, say so explicitly so that the comparison starts on the right basis.

We will use those details to discuss a complete route, with hotels, selected excursions and connections considered together. Before booking, review the named services, availability, inclusions, exclusions and conditions. An inquiry does not reserve a room, boat or departure.

Island facts and visitor guidance are checked against the sources below. Suggested day allocations are our planning recommendations; the linked GLBT itineraries describe our proposed routes. Access, services and the final price are confirmed in your personal quote.

Before you decide

Are GLBT packages all-inclusive?

Do not assume every expense is included. GLBT prepares tailored land-based proposals that identify hotels, excursions, transfers, meals, equipment and exclusions. Flights are budgeted separately in the published planning estimates.

Are flights included in all-inclusive Galapagos packages?

It depends on the individual program. Ask separately about international flights, mainland–Galapagos flights and any inter-island flight. Only treat a flight as included when it appears in the written proposal.

Does all-inclusive mean a private tour?

No. Meal plans and bundled services do not determine whether a vehicle, guide or boat is exclusive. Check the private or shared status of each service.

Can I book a complete package without taking a cruise?

Yes. A land-based itinerary uses hotels and connects selected activities with transfers. Our five-, seven- and eight-day routes are starting points for a personal proposal.

Are all meals and drinks included?

Check the meal plan by day, including excursion lunches and drinks. Some programs include breakfast, some more meals, and some leave evenings independent.

Does a package include every island listed on its page?

Not necessarily. A list may describe alternatives for one excursion. Your proposal should name the selected destination and distinguish it from optional or alternative visits.

Which route works if I want fewer transfers?

The five-day Santa Cruz route keeps one hotel base. A longer custom stay on one or two islands can also reduce the number of moves while allowing more time ashore.

What should I send for an accurate quote?

Share dates, travelers, room needs, trip length, budget per person and priority experiences. Mention whether the budget includes flights and which services you want checked as private.
